A Tale of Love and Resilience in San Antonio

The love in the air was palpable all day— the air buzzed with electric energy and was a tangible testament to the love they shared. We could tell that every guest cared deeply about Preston, Matthew, and their love story. Put that together with a couple who are head-over-heels for each other, and you get pure wedding magic.

We incorporated subtle pride references throughout the wedding design to honor Preston and Matthew’s story and the resilience of the LGBTQ+ community. The cake was a traditional white confection on the outside with a riot of rainbow-colored layers on the inside. And what Texas affair would be complete without a touch of cowboy charm? Rainbow hats were passed around, a playful nod to the Lone Star State's spirit.

But that wasn’t all! When it was finally time for the guests to retire for the night, Preston and Matthew rode away into their forever in a getaway car decked in a rainbow ribbon banner. We couldn’t have envisioned a more perfect ending.

When Preston and Matthew were introduced to us by a former client, they already had their hearts set on The Argyle in San Antonio. Despite the venue's ongoing renovations, their vision remained steadfast.

Preston’s keen eye for design helped set the stage. He wanted the day to have a traditional Southern feel but with masculine updates, and he wanted to take advantage of Texas’ temperate spring weather and have an outdoor wedding on the club’s manicured grounds. Thankfully, Mother Nature cooperated with our plans! The couple exchanged vows on the sun-dappled lawn, then joined their guests beneath a clear-top tent with open sides to celebrate.
