Finding Hope and Love in Unexpected Places

Unfortunately, Megan's mom fell ill during the middle of the planning process and passed away. Then, Covid came down hard and required us to postpone the wedding until 2021. But all hope was not lost. Not when you have a gracious couple, a team of go-getter planners, and a butterfly's message lighting the way.

The night before the wedding, we were installing starburst lanterns at the venue. In the middle of setting up, just as we turned on the lights, a giant monarch butterfly appeared, flew through the lanterns, and disappeared! Then, the next day, during the processional, the same butterfly showed up, made a direct line to the bride and her dad, danced over and around them, and flew away. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. The rest of the celebration was filled with just as much sweet magic, and these two deserved every bit.

This wedding planning story starts like many in the Covid era - with a postponement. But its ending is certainly unique.

Megan and Matt contacted us to help them piece together the details of their modern outdoor garden wedding at The Nasher. They knew they wanted something that hadn't been done before, with lots of black and white, acrylic, glass, and wax flowers. We were happy to help, along with Megan's mom, who was also involved in the planning journey. She and Megan also wanted butterflies to appear throughout the design, so we incorporated them in a chic way to fit the modern aesthetic.
