When a Wedding Planner and an Interior Designer Get Together and Plan a Wedding

One of the first challenges the couple ran into was the overall design. There was a moment when they went into the design meeting and sat silent because something felt off. The problem was that Julian and Francisco knew what they wanted but didn't know how to vocalize the vision. Fortunately, Sarah could see what was happening - she had coached JL couples through this scenario before. So she knew exactly how to help Francisco and Julian realize what they truly wanted: modern, dark, moody, and lush.

Another challenge was coordinating all of the characters. Because Julian has been in the industry for so long, everyone wanted to contribute. Sarah did an excellent job of directing, allowing everyone to share their creative contributions and shine. The result was a beautiful event full of personal touches and modern styling.

Spoiler alert: like The Wedding Planner, this story also ends on a happy note. Julian and Francisco celebrated their union surrounded by the most important people in their lives. And not once did Julian go into work mode. 

Remember The Wedding Planner? It's a romcom starring Jennifer Lopez, and the premise is that San Francisco's most successful planner breaks the biggest rule by falling in love with the groom she's planning for.

This story isn't anything like that, but it IS about a successful wedding planner who tries to follow his own process without going into work mode. And it IS about a couple coming together in marriage, not so much to change their lives but to celebrate the relationship they've nurtured for years.

And for two people who've been together long enough to own a home and raise a fur baby, they were no strangers to obstacles.
