The band backdrop was the pièce de résistance of the reception space and was unlike anything we had done before. Vines crisscrossed in a freeform trellis from the ceiling to the floor, interwoven with an artful cascade of bright pink flowers. The bar also drew guests’ eyes as they walked in, the massive tree installation at its center extending a warm welcome and eliciting gasps of awe.

On the tablescapes, striped taupe-and-white linens laid the foundation for the place settings: an eclectic compilation of vintage glassware, blue Ginori plates, and tasseled menu cards. Miniature table lamps were a nod to classic interiors, while the playful floral centerpieces popped in a symphony of coordinating colors.

The transition from the reception into the afterparty was epic as we transformed the escort card display into a wall of colorful wigs (our definition of a party done right). Guests entered the ballroom to find the white draping replaced with sumptuous navy velvet, an inviting backdrop for the speakeasy-inspired design. Ensconced in the cozy space, the couple and their loved ones partied into the wee hours with Texas flair, sipping from plastic boot cups and donning oversized cowboy hats.

This wedding is the perfect example of not needing to know exactly what you want your event to look like from the beginning. We’ll refine and adjust until we find what fits—always crafted from your story and designed to perfection.

This is the story of the all-American girl next door meeting and marrying the boy next door. It’s also the story of a wedding planning journey taking an unexpected turn—with a final result that looked nothing like the bride’s Pinterest board but felt exactly right.

In our initial wedding planning meeting with Jenny and her parents, she showed us a Pinterest board that was all California-chic, in a minimal, tone-on-tone color palette. So, we drafted a sleek, monochromatic design board. As it turned out, it was exactly what she needed to see to realize her true vision, for a vibrantly colorful wedding with touches of traditional charm. This is why we’ve ordered our process in this way! We have time to refine your ideas before we take them to your vendors, creating a solid foundation for your event.

In the case of this Rosewood Mansion wedding, the final result incorporated elements of Jenny’s original, West Coast-inspired vision, Nancy Meyers style, and the ever-beloved Grandmillennial aesthetic.
