If you ask us, the best wedding days are rooted in gratitude, celebrating the love you’ve found with your partner, the support of your friends and family, and the chance to gather together. But what if you planned your wedding just before America’s national day of gratitude? The result, as it turns out, is something truly special.
From the very beginning, Claire, Chris, and Claire’s mother—closely involved in planning to support her busy doctor daughter—envisioned a Thanksgiving wedding that would feel like a gathering of loved ones. Their priority was exceptional hosting, with the warmth of a holiday spent at home: good food, easy laughter, and meaningful time together.
Our challenge as their Dallas wedding planners was bringing that feeling to life at Dallas’s Union Station, a grand venue where such an intimate vision could easily get lost in the scale of the space.
To make the room both intentional and inviting, a thoughtful layout was key. Small, round tables encouraged conversation over dinner, while cozy banquettes added alternative seating and visual interest. Curled up on the plush seats, guests enjoyed the comforts of home while taking in the beauty and elegance of the historic setting.
The color palette carried the atmosphere even further: a collection of bold, warm hues that came alive after sundown in the glow of hundreds of candles. Shades of mustard, midnight blue, and burgundy mingled with sumptuous velvet textures and edible centerpieces—fresh apples, figs, and pomegranates—to create a scene that felt luscious, indulgent, and wonderfully abundant.
And we can’t talk about indulgence without mentioning the cake table, where no fewer than five cakes stood ready to satisfy every guest’s sweet tooth, and then some. Adorned with flowers, fruit, and intricate frosting details, they reflected the spirit of the season: a celebration of plenty and love overflowing into every corner of the room.
Just one of many reasons to give thanks, and a beautiful reminder of how fortunate we are to serve couples around the world.
With the right steps, the right decisions, you’ll naturally have an amazing celebration - and have a little fun along the way too.
Let’s dream together.
I see a world of possibilities for you.
And that’s a pretty fun place to start.
