Reinventing Classic Style in Midtown

There’s something about New York at Christmas-time. The iconic decorations go up, the lights shine just a bit brighter, and the air buzzes with anticipation. Add a wedding on top of it all, and you have a recipe for an unforgettable weekend in the city.
Avery and Pat approached us with a vision for a timeless celebration. But like every JLE couple, they also wanted a day that felt completely their own—one that embraced the hallmarks of classic style while still doing something new and interesting.

Our favorite kind of challenge!

Luckily, we had the extraordinary St. Regis as our canvas. We quickly found that leaning into the architectural features already present in each space would breathe new life into classic wedding colors and textures. For the ceremony in the Versailles Room, we took inspiration from its gilded cornices and reflected them — literally — in a custom mirrored aisle that spanned the length of the space. Floral meadows on either side set a romantic tone, drawing the eye upward to the lush archway where Avery and Pat would exchange vows.

Then came the reception in the St. Regis Penthouse, where we took our cues from the space’s lower ceiling and intimate feel. Tree centerpieces created a mid-height focal point, paired with velvety linens, soft white florals, and chandeliers dripping with crystal. Designed to feel as though it had always been there, the custom dance floor grounded the room with an updated take on a classic checkerboard pattern.

Cocktail hour and the bespoke stationery suite offered opportunities to introduce an accent color: a rich maroon that stole Avery’s heart and paired beautifully with the white and green details woven throughout the rest of the day.

But just as important as the design was exceptional hospitality. Pat, an MLB pitcher–turned–owner of The Light Group, had high expectations for the culinary and beverage experience, and knew his guests would too. So as their luxury wedding planners, we made sure every single detail was taken care of, and guests spent the wedding weekend feeling cared for and immersed in this Christmas-time vision.
