Setting the Scene

India and Hayden got engaged on December 28th. Their story is one of long-distance and going the distance, as they started dating three years ago, after meeting in their Masters’s program in Fort Worth and now working to see each other in separate city’s during their time in Medical School. India, a first-year med student, was born in and has called Dallas home for most of her life. Hayden, calls Fort Worth home and is also residing there while enrolled as a third-year med student at TCOM.

India and Hayden, are looking to plan a wedding on December 30, 2021, with around 250 guests and are just in the beginning stages of planning. They know that Highland Park Presbyterian Church is the choice for their ceremony with their reception following at either Dallas Country Club or Brook Hollow GC. But, most importantly they want something that is not typical to other weddings they have attended and that feels authentically like the two of them and are searching for someone to help translate those dreams into reality.

Their vision of a ceremony in the beautiful sanctuary that the bride grew up attending followed by a great party (i.e. food stations instead of a seated dinner, a killer band, a bar to remember) at either of the country club options will allow for everyone to be together, mix, mingle, and really bond over this shared experience. It is incredibly important that they find a planner who can assist them and her Mom, Margaret, in navigating all of the choices that are available, while also helping translate their personal intimate entertaining style to a much larger group.

While they both lean toward an aesthetic that is more traditional but classic, they really believe in an understated less is more type of atmosphere that truly reflects them as a couple and will allow for a relaxed vibe in an elevated atmosphere. They are both into food as well so ensuring the meal errs on the side of great is a very important aspect of the evening, especially for ??, while India will be focused on the decor (i.e. white, green and lot’s of flowers) and making sure that their dining space feels full yet appropriate to make their event truly intimate.

Planning for the first time, with some assistance from her Mom, who just finished planning another daughter’s wedding, they are interested in a planning package that includes both vendor and logistics support and overall concept and design. They will have a wedding with their closest circle in attendance and are looking for it to be fun and not too stuffy. India and Hayden, are interested in making their wedding as unique as possible for their guests who have potentially seen it all and I stand ready to assist them in that cause.

Planner

I wear many hats (er bow ties.) I’m a diplomat, designer, advisor, counselor, sounding board,  dreamer… The list goes on.

I’ve dabbled and directed everything from catering sales and management for the Crescent Hotel and Rosewood Mansion, to wedding planning and floral design for Bella Flora of Dallas. And along this 15 year journey here’s what I know is true…
