Sandy & Katie

Sandy & Katie

Wedding Date: March 27, 2021
Ceremony Location: Garden Room – Rosewood Mansion
Wedding Reception Location: Library & PH Terrace – Rosewood Mansion

Setting the Scene

Katie and Sandy have been together for over 9 years. Having met each other in California when Katie was in Law School they have traversed the U.S. as a couple where jobs, further schooling, and new jobs have taken them. Originally planning for a party of 150 in Florida in 2022 they have decided that they don’t want to wait any longer and have selected Dallas, the home of Sandy’s family, to tie the knot.

They are looking to plan a wedding on March 27, 2021 and have settled on an intimate ceremony & reception for 16 guests at the iconic Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Most importantly they want something that is not typical to other weddings they have attended and that feels authentically like them. Their vision of a ceremony in the Garden Room, followed by a romantic candlelight dinner in the Library and topped off with dancing and dessert on the Penthouse Terrace will allow for everyone to be together and really bond over this shared experience. They are also interested in a party that allows for a seated dinner so that everyone is together and experiencing the party at the same time.

While they both lean toward a style that is more modern but classic, Katie and Sandy believe in an understated less is more type of atmosphere that truly reflects them as a couple. They are both into food as well so ensuring the meal errs on the side of great is a very important aspect of the evening as well as a focus on the decor (White’s, Greenery, and possibly a touch of Blush) and making sure that their dining space feels full yet appropriate to make their event truly intimate. Additionally, they are very into music so great entertainment is a huge must.

Planning in a very short window, they are interested in a planning package that includes both vendor and logistics support and overall concept and design. They will have a wedding with their closest circle in attendance and are looking for it to be fun and not too stuffy. Katie and Sandy are interested in making their wedding as unique as possible for their guests who are coming together in this very special time.

“No matter how many times someone says, “live in the moment” and “enjoy every moment” I think that might be impossible. The celebration flies by and is so incredibly magical but with Julian the planning is just as rewarding and fun as the celebration.”

— Brandon, Groom

Planner

I wear many hats (er bow ties.) I’m a diplomat, designer, advisor, counselor, sounding board,  dreamer… The list goes on.

I’ve dabbled and directed everything from catering sales and management for the Crescent Hotel and Rosewood Mansion, to wedding planning and floral design for Bella Flora of Dallas. And along this 15 year journey here’s what I know is true…

THERE’S A RIGHT WAY…

And that way is whatever way makes you most comfortable.

I subscribe to the Platinum Rule of treat others as THEY would like to be treated. And as a Washington School of Protocol-trained expert, I’ve learned that etiquette is about making others feel comfortable.

That’s why, I’ll meet you wherever you are on this planning journey. And we’ll walk the path together. With discretion and good judgement.

After all, the way you feel determines how your guests will feel. And I want them to feel fabulous!
