Setting the Scene

Erin and Tommy got engaged in May! You are looking to have a wedding reception with family and friends in May 2022 with around 200 guests and are just getting started with planning. You’re currently planning on a small ceremony with family only in Seattle, and are looking to plan a fun reception in Dallas bringing both of your families together for a celebration focused on a great location, music, food and drinks, without too much focus on the formalities of a formal wedding. Getting started planning from out of town during a pandemic has been a bit overwhelming, and you’re looking for a planner that understands what you’re looking for and can help alleviate any stress, understand your vision and help this celebration come to life.

Your vision for this celebration weekend is to create a fun atmosphere where friends and family can dress up and enjoy a beautiful night out without the stress of a ‘“typical wedding.” The perfect reception location will be easy to get to for out-of-town guests, with gorgeous views, and a somewhat finished space that doesn’t need a decor overhaul, rather, some pretty floral and linens, cool lounge pieces, great food, and a great view! We’ve identified D.E.C. on Dragon as a potentially perfect spot, fitting the bill for each of these items and creating an atmosphere to bring guests coming from all over the country for a gorgeous evening celebrating Tommy and Erin. You’re looking for a planner to help you make smart decisions to maximize your investment in this important celebration and make it feel very personalized to the two of you without becoming over the top, or adding unnecessary stress.

Aesthetically, the evening will highlight the impressive views of downtown Dallas on the venue’s rooftop, adding in some gorgeous floral in a natural, ivory, white and greenery palette with warm lighting to complete the look. Erin and Tommy, you really believe in an understated less is more type of atmosphere that truly reflects you as a couple and will allow for a relaxed vibe in an elevated atmosphere. Being well travelled, you are both into great food and wine, so ensuring that the meal is inviting and delicious with great presentation is an important aspect of the evening, along with attentive service and a great selection at the bar.

I absolutely understand that maintaining a full-time job and planning a wedding from out of state during a pandemic is overwhelming. You want to host all of your closest friends and family in one of your favorite cities and truly enjoy the weekend without any unnecessary stress and chaos. I would love to work with you both, and your families to make that come together into a beautiful and memorable weekend.
