Setting the Scene

Caroline and Harris met while attending University of Virginia and are excitedly awaiting their engagement. They dreamed of a wedding in Charlottesville after falling in love with the area in college. With graduating from college, getting engaged, planning a wedding, there is lots of joyful change on the horizon and you’re seeking a full-service wedding planner to help you bring this wedding celebration together seamlessly so that you all can enjoy this precious time together with family.

You have a vision for a wedding ceremony at Christ Church which is just a few miles from the reception location and near and dear to Caroline as she attended church here while in school. The reception will immediately follow at Farmington Country Club, a beautiful traditional space that’s the perfect setting for a fun celebration. You’re expecting about 350 guests and most all of the guests will be traveling in to Charlottesville for the weekend.

While this aspect of the wedding is still in the beginning stages, you’re picturing an intimate rehearsal dinner, a welcome reception for guests and likely a farewell brunch on Sunday to see guests off at the close of the weekend. You want to ensure that guests feel well-hosted and get a feel for Charlottesville as it’s such a special place to Caroline and Harris.

Aesthetically, Caroline, you love a classic look with a twist! You love a floral look with lots of fresh greenery accented with some floral. You’re not afraid of a little color and in addition to the greenery will add in some blue and blush floral with some hints of citrus mixed in. You love classic details like a Gracie panel and are envisioning a classic East Coast feel for the wedding look. Caroline and Natalie, this design process will be such a fun collaboration with the two of you as you both are on the same page with your taste and style and are looking forward to jumping in to the fun details.

Charlottesville is absolutely stunning and another beautiful aspect of the wedding will be bringing the outdoor views of the surrounding mountains in to the reception space. The feel of the reception should be an elevated feel in a relaxed atmosphere set for guests to have fun! You’re planning on a stations-style reception that keeps guests up and moving throughout the evening and on the dance floor! Caroline, you’re a big band person and a packed dance floor is one of the pieces of the wedding weekend you and Harris are most looking forward to.

Diving into this planning process, Natalie and Caroline, you’ve been very much on the same page. You’ve looked at lots of work you love online and have attended lots of beautiful weddings so you really have a clear vision for the day. You’re looking for a planner that can guide you through the process of making financial guidelines for the date, make really smart decisions that keep the guest experience amazing without being totally over the top. You are seeking a planner that can understand the vision for Harris and Caroline’s wedding weekend, and bring a wealth of knowledge, organization and creativity to the table, keeping the process streamlined, and fun! Planner

I wear many hats (er bow ties.) I’m a diplomat, designer, advisor, counselor, sounding board,  dreamer… The list goes on.

I’ve dabbled and directed everything from catering sales and management for the Crescent Hotel and Rosewood Mansion, to wedding planning and floral design for Bella Flora of Dallas. And along this 15 year journey here’s what I know is true…
