Paul & Kamala

Paul & Kamala

Wedding Date: January 17, 2021
Ceremony Location: Temple Emanu-El – Stern Chapel
Wedding Reception Location: Crescent Club

Setting the Scene

Kamala and Paul currently reside in Houston and had originally planned for a March 2021 wedding in Miami for all of their friends and family from around the country and world. As the deadlines for each of their main vendors approach they have decided to scale back their celebration and determined that they don’t want to wait until 2022 to get married with their original plan. They have selected Dallas, where Kamala has family roots, to tie the knot.

They are looking to plan a wedding on January 17, 2021 and have settled on an intimate ceremony & reception for 40 guests at Temple Emanu-El followed by a small reception at The Crescent Club. Most importantly they want something that is not typical to other weddings they have attended and that feels authentically like them. Their vision of a ceremony in the Stern Chapel, followed by an elegant cocktail hour overlooking Dallas in the Crescent Club bar paired with a romantic candlelight dinner in the Gourmet room and topped off with dancing and dessert back in the bar, on the original leather dance floor, will allow for everyone to be together and really bond over this shared experience. They are also interested in a utilizing vendors that they had already booked for their event in Miami (photo, band, florist) in reimagined ways so that they are able to capitalize on deposits that are not refundable.

While they both lean toward a style that is more modern but classic, Kamala and Paul believe in an understated less is more type of atmosphere that truly reflects them as a couple. They are both into food as well so ensuring the meal errs on the side of great is a very important aspect of the evening as well as a focus on the decor (White’s & Gold’s) and making sure that their dining space feels full yet appropriate to make their event truly intimate.

Planning in a very short window, they are interested in a planning package that includes both vendor and logistics support and overall concept and design. They will have a wedding with their closest circle in attendance and are looking for it to be fun and not too stuffy. Kamala and Paul are interested in making their wedding as unique as possible for their guests who are coming together in this very special time.

“No matter how many times someone says, “live in the moment” and “enjoy every moment” I think that might be impossible. The celebration flies by and is so incredibly magical but with Julian the planning is just as rewarding and fun as the celebration.”

Planner

I wear many hats (er bow ties.) I’m a diplomat, designer, advisor, counselor, sounding board,  dreamer… The list goes on.

I’ve dabbled and directed everything from catering sales and management for the Crescent Hotel and Rosewood Mansion, to wedding planning and floral design for Bella Flora of Dallas. And along this 15 year journey here’s what I know is true…

THERE’S A RIGHT WAY…

And that way is whatever way makes you most comfortable.

I subscribe to the Platinum Rule of treat others as THEY would like to be treated. And as a Washington School of Protocol-trained expert, I’ve learned that etiquette is about making others feel comfortable.

That’s why, I’ll meet you wherever you are on this planning journey. And we’ll walk the path together. With discretion and good judgement.

After all, the way you feel determines how your guests will feel. And I want them to feel fabulous!
