Setting the Scene

Mason’s Bar Mitzvah celebration has been long awaited after delays from COVID, and you are more than ready to celebrate your amazing son! You have lots of family coming in town and are planning on hosting your family at a dinner at your home on Thursday, followed by a dinner at The Adolphus on Friday, a service on Saturday at Temple El Emmanuel with a simple Kiddish following before the main event on Saturday night. You’ve selected The Filter Building as the location for the Saturday evening festivities which has the perfect rustic feel to set the scene for “Mason’s Lodge”.

You’ve had time to think through tons of fun details that will hold special meaning for Mason, you, and your husband such as incorporating a Mariachi band for cocktail hour, a nod to your wedding day, and using Mason jars in details like the ultimate candy bar, or for serving beverages. You have a clear vision for the day but need a planner with an eye for detail to help you tie these elements together into one cohesive event and give you piece of mind that these important details are being handled by a professional while you host your friends and family.

The design for the Saturday evening event speaks to Mason’s love of the outdoors. The cocktail hour on the Filter Building patio will bring in more elements of spring, whereas the indoor will have a decidedly wintery feel. The exposed brick, and industrial feel of the venues beams will provide a lovely backdrop for the Lodge feel of the evening. Round tables where family members can gather with centerpieces incorporating textural greenery and succulents with warm candlelight will set the scene for this milestone celebration.

Most importantly, this is a family event that is a true celebration of Mason, speaking to his many interests, and a gathering of the most important people in Mason’s and your family’s life. You want all of your guests to feel well hosted and taken care of, have great food and beverage service with some creative menu elements, and you want to incorporate some fun entertainment that the kids will love without going over the top, or making it feel over-produced.
